A small glossary for Intellectual Property

Here’s a quick rundown of some of the words you’ll come across when it comes to Intellectual Property. Some of these words are only ever used in legal documents and solicitor’s offices (some, quite frankly, sound a bit medical).

Infringement

The action of breaking the law or agreement.

Libel

When someone writes something that is untrue about you.

Defamation

The action of damaging the good reputation of someone; slander or libel.
